A trip organised by students for the students to promote socializing and sharing of interests and
culture so that students, especially the international ones, can get closer to the Italian Art. The perfect destination for such a trip is Florence, an important centre of Education and Patrimony of Humanity, considered the birthplace of the Renaissance. It has been called "the Athens of the Middle Ages" and is universally recognised as the cradle of Art and architecture being one of
the most beautiful cities in the world thanks to its monuments and museums.
We’ll be visiting some of the wonders of the city including Brunelleschi Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the
Baptistery of Saint John, Santa Reparata Church, the Uffizi Gallery, Pitti Palace, Boboli Garden, Ancient Bridge and the Great Museum of Duomo. This specific selection allows us to certify the fact that Florence has undergone the influence of Middle Ages, the Renaissance, Modern Age and
Contemporary Times. Since we’ll be in Tuscany, visiting Pisa with its Piazza Duomo and the Leaning Tower, (one of the best-known monuments due to its characteristic slope) is a “must”. The registration is open to any Polimi student.
